Van Van Der maaten
Van has spent a good part of his life in Northern California, mostly in West Marin. A painting contractor for 30 years, Van and wife Joanie, of Pine Cone Diner fame along with poodle Django are dividing time between West Marin and the high country of Truchas, New Mexico,while their two children, Nick and Stella have taken their West Marin upbringing to Chicago and San Francisco.
Writing and performing music for over 35 years has been a constant for Van. Playing both acoustic and electric guitars, Van, whether performing solo or with one of the many local bands he’s been part of over the years, is a local favorite. With a unique vocal style, Van works the melodies of an American songbook.
